So you’ve got a roleplaying game that’s doing okay, it’s been well thought out and you’ve written a few posts, but what you really need are some more members!

This article has moved, you’ll now find it here.

One of the first forms of advertisement that I’ve used was facebook, I signed up immediately after I finished our forums. While it hasn’t aided much (yet) in gaining new members, it definitely is a fabulous way to keep the players updated and encourage activity, as well as giving personal shout outs to players who are doing a great job.

Players love their facebooks, and on average I’d say they spend good amounts of time throughout the day checking it, in turn can remind them to check our site. I can also keep up to date on goings in the chat room through the facebook as well.

I love having the option of making other players admins on the FB fan page as well, so I’m not the only one who does the updating, it gives a variety of personalities and aspects of the RP to bring into the spot light that I may not think of often.

Even if it isn’t bringing in a flood of new players it’s keeping the ones we have coming back. We love it.
